Purple Bar Certainly there needs to be a bigger penalty for bypassing the festival curves. Many drivers still spun on the wet pavement actually going through the turn after they successfully braked for it from the straight. Personally, I would make drivers either spin and run the corner or have some one stop them until the track is clear.

I disagree on the gidley and cichane comments. Sure you can blame short notice and rust on Gidley's qualifying, but not his reasin for being out of the race. IF you watch the tape you can clearly see that Kanaan was wrong in crossing the track. Maybe Gidley could have gone off in the grass, but that would surely have sent him into a wall. What would be better at the festival curves? A driver missing the turn and shooting through or a yellow flag to clean up his mistake? IF drivers knew they would be penalized for shooting through they might be more abt to try something dumb and causing an accident.
