1957-8: Typically referred to as the Race of Two Worlds, the actual name was the 500 Miglia di Monza. These were non-points paying invitational races. 1957: Event run in three heats, with overall winner (Jimmy Bryan) determined by total laps completed. 2001: Alex Zanardi losses both his legs in crash with 13 laps remaining. 2003: Alex Zanardi "completes" the 13 laps from the 2001 race in a specially prepared hand controlled car prior to the race.
