Hybrid Debut: The greatly anticipated hybrid prototype finally made its ALMS debut. It combined a 4.5-liter Zytek V8 with a lithium-ion battery-powered motor that employs KERS (kinetic energy recovery system). Though not expected to be as quick as the regular prototypes (and it was off the pace), Johnny Mowlem and Stefan Johansson still managed a podium spot thanks to reliability (despite losing a shock cover early on) and competitors' problems.
