Series Champion: Nicki Thiim won Saturday's Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup race by making the pass at Turn 11 on the last lap after running second the whole day. He took advantage of a mistake by race long leader Earl Bamber to do so. Thiim also won Sunday's race for three consecutive victories, giving him the championship. It was bittersweet, however, after the death of then points leader Sean Edwards in a training session in Australia.
